Angina is when you have chest pain due to lack of oxygen to the heart. Most often, caused by clogged up arteries.
Heart Attack is life-threatening and is necrosis (tissue death) of part of the heart

They can be difficult to tell apart. In a heart attack part of the heart is deprived of oxygen and actually "dies". Angina is also a lack of oxygen to the heart but is only temporary.

Angina will go away with rest or with taking nitroglycerin. If you are having angina take one nitro. If it stops its angina, if not take another one five minutes later, and another one five minutes after that, then go to the emergency room

Hi,, I had a massive MI back in 93. I never had angina until after I had the heart attack. And here's what my doctor has always told me. If it hurts, take a nitro,, if it goes away, it was just angina. If after one nitro, and it doesn't go away, take another nitro in 5 min,, if after another few minutes that didn't help, get to the hospitol and take the 3rd nitro on the way. And take two aspirin on the way or at the first signs of angina. It could save your life. Hope this helped

A Heart Attack is the actual seizing of function of the heart muscle. It could take several hours to actually get to seizure, but it is the actual seizure of function of the heart.
Angina is the result blockage of oxygenated blood to the heart. This is caused by a blockage, usually the result of cholesterol buildup. Angina is typically the early sign of an oncoming heart attack if not treated immediately.

a heart attack or Acute Myocardial infarction utimately results in cardiac muscle tissue death.
Angina Pecoralis is Chest pain caused by Coronary Artery disease, and most acurately thought of as a warning sign of poor cardiac muscle perfusion or oxygenation.
The symptoms are initialy identical:
Chest pain, frequently tighness or a sensation of weight
Neck. shoulder, or arm pain
shortness of breath
Nausea/ vomiting
sweating
keep in mind ....some people are wired diffrently and can have a variety of symptoms..these are just a list of classics.
**** Heart attacks are not seizures in any way******
**** If your having Chest Pain and youve already been given nitroglycerin tablets, its freaking silly to not go to the ER when you having Chest Pain. Some people with a Diagnose of Anigina will just take the pill and along with rest will have symptoms abate, but If thats the case you've already had multiple ER or doctors visits and already know this...keep in mind Angina history makes Heart attacks more likely not less.

Angina and heart attacks are both severe forms of chest pain associated with the heart muscle being deprived of oxygen. This is usually caused by atherosclerosis blocking the coronary arteries wgich supply the heart with blood. When the blockage first happens, the pain felt is referred to as angina pectoris. The longer the vessel remains blocked is the less oxygen the muscle has left and it eventually begins to die. After one hour, the condition is usually called a heart attack, since even after restoring the blood supply to the area, some tissue already would have died and start to form scar tissue.
Angina is a warning sign that you might have a heart attack if you do not do something about your arteries, but after the attack, the heart is able to go back to normal. Angina also is a warning sign for strokes and other vascular problems that can affect different systems of the body.
