Red Face, Finger Tips, And Heart Failure?
Written by admin on January 15, 2010my brother is 70, i have been noticing the color of his face and finger tips being bright red. I think he is getting worse with heart failure. I am not sure what his medical problem is because he wont say. I think he is suffering with shortness of breath, dizziness, and one day it was 69 degrees and he had blue fingers and lips. I dont think his heart is working correctly. He does see doctors and is on medication but I am noticing a decline. how many years can people live with heart failure?

this case is looks as a cyanosis which is complication of the heart failure and the defecient oxygen supply to the blood and hence to the body
we called it COPD(chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease)
it`s happen to the old long time heavy smoker
where there is extensive lung fibrosis and the condition become manifest more with the cardiac failure to maintain the normal function of the heart
for now and simply it need medical care
but if he develops this again u need to give him high concentration high flow oxygen by nasal prongs
it will help to improve the cyanosis problem and blue tips and pain that may develops from the constricted terminal capillaries

My grandmother died of heart failure so I know more about this than I want to. Heart failure is a progressive disease. If the failure is caused by a valve failure, please do seek an opinion on the usefulness of valve surgery. If the chambers have been compromised that is more difficult.
Functioning can sometimes be supported by changes in diet. This will reduce strain on the heart. Walnuts and eating green vegetables seemed to help, as did eating fish and fish oil.

we cant never tell how many years someone can live with heart failure…
our heart is the one that decides when to stop… no doctor can tell exactly how many years…
blue lips and fingers is low oxygen …
i hope he feels better *

69 degrees isn’t warm enough for some people.
Don’t worry how many years he has left. Just prepare as best as possible and help him enjoy life.
