Heart Valves?
Written by admin on November 26, 2009does anyone know how bad it is if you have all your heart valves leaking?we just found out that my 9 year old daughter has all her valves leaking.the family dr would not go into it with us, and we dont see the heart dr for another week.

All four hearts are leaking as you said, it is beyond the management of a family doctor, in my opinion your daughter’s life is more important.
I am sorry to read this but it was his moral obligation to arrange an emergency consultation with a Pediatric Cardiologist, Change him.
Call an emergency number 911 and explain them the situation, maybe they will arrange.
I am advising you to take emergency consultation.

I would find another Heart Dr….. You dont need the stress… Call someone ASAP Good luck and God bless… Grant M in Pennsylvania

It would depend on the severity of the leak. Don’t stress to much until you have seen your Cardiologist. They will do and EKG and a cardioechogram, (a lot like a sono) Then they will be able to tell you what’s what.
My Daughter was diagnosed at 2 days with a heart condition called Tetrology so I know how scary it is to hear there is a problem, but try not to worry. Your family Doc is not equipped to tell you much in that area and it’s better to let the Cardio do it. Our Docs consult with each other all the time to make sure we have the most correct information about her health.

See another dr. Even just one leaky heart valve, depending on the severity, can cause a lot of probs.
